Hiking near Mount Baker!

Yesterday Don, Pat and I planned to go for a bicycle ride in one of the Washington islands. The plan was to wake up early, drive to Anacortes and get a ferry from there to the Lopez island. We woke up as planned, watched the sunrise from their living room, had breakfast and departed just fine. However, upon arriving in Anacortes I realized my bicycle had a lock in it’s wheel and that the key was at home… so I could not ride.

Watching the sunrise from Don and Pat’s living room.

We had no other option but to return and do something else since it would be too late to catch the ferry… so, we decided to go for a hike!

We went for a hike at the North Cascades National Forest, close to Mount Baker! This was such an amazing day. Take a look at some of the landscapes we saw over there!

We hiked two trails. In the middle of the first one we stopped for lunch, then kept going. The elevation was of about 5000 feet so there was even some ice on the floor.

After spending the day at the park we returned and had dinner on our way back. I then caught up on some things I wanted to get done in the computer, and so did they.

Tomorrow I’ll stay at home and get some work done, but Friday or Saturday we might try again that bicycle ride which should be really fun!

Cheers,
Eduardo
